Unit 8 World Zone Game: Apply your knowledge of what factors lead to the rise and fall of empires, and strive for world domination!

Big History Project

As small, agrarian communities evolved into cities and empires, the process of collective learning got faster and faster. It’s not that humans necessarily got smarter. There were simply more of them and they got better at sharing information.

But what characteristics caused some civilizations and empires to be more successful than others? In the Unit 8 World Zone Game, students explore just that, as they strive for world domination. You class will apply knowledge of what variables advance and stifle collective learning, and compete to connect the four world zones.
