When folks sign on to teach the Big History Project course for the first time, an understandably common reaction (and fear!) is: Why all the science?

This topic was surfaced recently in the BHP Online Teacher Community, when veteran New York-based BHP teacher Scott Henstrand asked:

How has the integration of science into teaching history changed your view of history?
